vibraziòni

2017, Nuova Zelanda

1 An instance of vibrating. “powerful vibrations from an earthquake” – [mass noun] “the big-capacity engine generated less vibration”. 1.1 Physics An oscillation of the parts of a fluid or an elastic solid whose equilibrium has been disturbed or of an electromagnetic wave. “molecular vibration” – [mass noun] “the high frequencies of vibration in diamond”. 2 Informal A person’s emotional state, the atmosphere of a place, or the associations of an object, as communicated to and felt by others. “i picked up no unusual vibrations as to the envelope’s contents”.

Vibrations is a tale of landscape, from the landscape. A symphony of minuscule high-frequency oscillations which describe the boundless land of New Zealand through the analysis of every detail. The picture is used as a means of dealing with the complexity of the space, trying to unify its multiple forms into a single entity.

The series of photographs, which are formally juxtaposed, aims at analyzing a landscape through its microscopic structures, a sort of wunderkammer of tiny vibrations generated from within. Such partial vibrations of endless and possible landscapes are decontextualized from their environment in order to recreate them through an esthetic deconstruction, by adding and bringing together contrast and harmony, ultimately generating new visions of nature.
